These three-section poles also utilize easy-to-use external locking mechanisms. The poles feature soft foam grips that extend beyond just the traditional handle, allowing you to change your hand position without having to make repeated micro-adjustments to the height of the poles. Integrated straps help to save your wrists from undue stress. Powerlock 3.0 external locks are far easier to adjust than the internal locking mechanisms used on many telescoping poles. Simply push open the locking tab, adjust the poles to your required length and snap the tab back into place. The poles can be converted for winter use by replacing the summer trekking baskets (included) with one of the several styles of snow baskets (sold separately). The Tungsten/Carbide flex tips are designed to flex if the tip of the pole should get stuck, helping to protect the shafts from structural damage.
